ABOUT US

At Little Sparks we have childminder, Ruth, and childminding assistant, Faith. We are focused on creating a social and safe environment in which children can be encouraged and supported to learn and grow through play. Our aim was to create an environment in which children could experience a setting that would be an ideal stepping stone before entering a school environment, but at the same time providing them with the homely comforts that are unique to childminding settings in particular.

We recognise the importance of collaboration with parents/carers and any other settings/professionals involved in your child's care, in order that we all work together to help your child progress and thrive.

We are both committed to our continuous professional development and regular evaluation of our practices to ensure that your children are receiving the best care and development possible from us. Ruth is a qualified level 3 Early Years Educator with many years of experience working with children. Between us both we have many qualifications and training as well as us both holding paediatric first aid, food hygiene and safeguarding certificates.

We recognise the importance of taking care of our planet and have taken steps towards being as eco-friendly as possible within our setting. We also hope to involve the children within this as much as possible, we will encourage the children to help us recycle, grow our own vegetables and we will be outside within nature as much as possible. We have free flow to the garden and we take regular nature walks. We also encourage wildlife in the garden and we hope the children will enjoy helping us with this, doing things such as looking after our our hedgehog house! We also have a nature cam which is on during the night, so that hopefully the children will be able to see a glimpse of our garden visitors the next day!

Our local community is important to us and we will have regular visits to our park and other community venues within Wincanton.

We use the Tapestry platform which allows you to see what your children have been up to during the day and is a useful way of you sharing your adventures with us too.
